LYNN MICHELLE

As a computer science major, one of the suggested requirements to graduate was to get involved in an extra curricular activity on campus. I thought the newspaper would be the place for me - I had always been commended for my writing skills and I had just left my post as head of our rogue high school newspaper.

The conversation with the editor did not go as planned; she was insistent upon needing a photographer and I just wanted to write. I guess I wore her down, she let me submit a story - a humorous tale about the parking situation at school. It had the laughs, tears, and pizazz of an award-winning article. It would change the world! But it never got published. Instead, she handed me a camera and ushered me out the door for my first assignment.

And that's how I became a photographer. I don't have a great story about growing up with a camera in my hand. My life on the newspaper was an anything but a glamorous array of rolled film (yes, I said the f word), developer and deadlines.

Here I am 12 [eek] years later and I can say that this is exactly where I want to be and I shoot fabulous people.

We begin the baraat. The Baraat is the groom’s procession to the ceremony on a mare, accompanied by his family.

Caught @ Rashee & Asheesh’s California Wedding

Vivian and I came back from California and all we have to show for it are these silly caught pictures. Kidding, the full wedding will be shellacking its sexiness all over the blog next week.

Friday’s rehearsal dinner at Asheesh’s parent’s home in San Jose  – Vivian and I showing off our new dresses from H&M.

The wedding was on Sunday so Rashee & Asheesh hosted a roast in their suite at the hotel on Saturday. Since we had some time before their friends arrived and we had all of their wedding details there, we started shooting. There was nothing like arriving on the morning of the wedding with all of that done!

Here I am arranging Rashee’s dress in the front entrance. I think I’m trying to figure out if it is centered.

And onto the wedding day … this image doesn’t give the actual moment the proper justice it requires. You can see one of Rashee’s bridesmaids, Sarah,  in the reflection in the window. I’m actually standing right behind her. I’m holding the skirt up and she is holding the sides of it as we are crammed in a corner spooning. Thank you Sarah for setting the tone of the day. We ♥ spooning.

do I need a smart phone?

I’m a professed techie geek. I love gadgets but I also really analyze and weigh new purchases, sometimes making a pros and cons list. Sometimes is an understatement, actually. I have ridiculous amount of  list making paper on my desk.

The big thing weighing on  me lately has been that my contract is almost up with my current mobile phone provider. Having had some un-fun customer service experiences with them over the years and knowing that I could save a nice chunk of money with another provider, I started my search for what would be my next phone. My current phone, well, it successfully makes phone calls and sometimes successfully sends text messages. It’s also a 3 year old Nokia flip phone. If you follow me on my facebook, all of my friends think that is “sooo 1999″.

So I looked at my mobile phone choices on my future network and, well, they still carry Nokia flip phones. (Hey, I’m just saying it’s still an option in case you didn’t know). But everyone and their dog now has a smart phone so I started looking at my Droid options. I mean, I do have an app in the Android Marketplace that I should probably use at least once in my life!  I started going through the pros and cons of having a smart phone. I already have a GPS in the car / I already have a wi-fi device for music & calendar / I’m always checking my email from the office. I can already do everything, but it involves using 3-4 devices to do it.

I did the next logical thing anyone in my place would do. I went to google and typed in “do I need a smart phone?”. Surprisingly others have asked the same question, but no one out there was saying “Yes, Lynn you  NEED a smart phone”. I still had 7 days to figure it out.

Yesterday, I marched into the T-mobile store. I pointed to the Nokia flip phone and I pointed to the MyTouch and the guy in there raised his eyebrow at me. I just sighed and said “I have no idea”.

So what did I do? I grabbed the smart phone. I guess I do need one. Now to start moving over contacts!

Hellooooooo … sexy, modern albums!

I confiscated two recent wedding albums and brought them in for their own sexy photo shoot in the studio. I’m soooo guilty of drooling over albums that come through but never taking a picture of them.

Bad Lynn, no cookie. I know.

First up is Melanie + Clint’s 10×10 flush mount wedding album, wearing a sexy white quill leather. As you blog stalkers may remember, they got married this past April so I’m so excited to have her wedding album in her hands just a few short months later!

The feel of the cover is divine.

Of course, the pages lay flat to show off all of their details! I love this particular spread because it showcases Melanie’s amazing color scheme and simply adorable ring bearer.

I’m a sucker for the last image. I love that last BOOM SHACKALKA BOOM before you close the album.

Next is Kimberly & Brandon’s sexy 12×12 beast. Kimberly and Brandon were married in January of 2009 and I was so excited to get an email from her saying she was ready for a wedding album!

It can be seen here a black damask embossed leather. It’s ludicrously awesome.

Here’s Kimberly’s spread of details. Deep reds, LOVE.

Just a few final images of both albums together :) Aren’t they just lovely?
