When I posted Geana & Jeff’s Trash the Dress portraits last week I didn’t mention a very important fact … or two. You see, Geana, Vivian and I were up to some sneaky things and we just didn’t tell Jeff exactly what we were up to.

Instead of starting our portrait session in their wedding attire (like I lead you all to believe in my first post), we actually started with both of them in ‘regular’ clothes. You know, some post wedding couple’s photography, a year and 3 months after the wedding, on the first (freezing) day of 2010. Jeff was rolling with the punches, but he was obviously not amused with the three of us.

Ok, he looked happy in the images. I will give him that.

I had Geana whisper I his ear to get him giggling.

He’s giggling right on cue, but he also can’t figure out what she’s saying.

O I think he gets it.

Surprise!

He picks Geana up and starts to whirl her around!

Guess what?!

Tada!

Now he’s super ecstatic to be taking pictures!

Jamie & Jeff’s engagement portraits have been in the works for weeks. Weather & timing issues kept pushing them back, but the Friday after Thanksgiving we set out to shoot, our bellies full of Thanksgiving yummies! The day was incredibly perfect – we got horses and soft sunlight and somehow avoided the Parade of Lights going through downtown as well as the purple Trinity River. (Go Frogs!)

It was our first time meeting Jeff, but he got right into the joking spirit and we just had a blast. Good thing, too, because Jamie had opted for an extended portrait session with a few different locations. He even bought us cheese fries, we definitely ♥ him.

Jamie’s mother had scoped out locations for us so we started at an undisclosed, but utterly amazing park in Fort Worth and then ventured to a new field that I had been drooling over. We were set to finish up at Snookie’s, where they met, but we were oooo so close to Marty Leonard Chapel, where they are getting married, so I asked if we could make one more stop.

One more thing, I’d like to give out special props to Vivie for her inability to discern between a dog and an otter. xoxo.

When Kelly & Ron came to meet me at the studio, we laughed … A LOT. From the story of how they met, to just about everything in between. So it was no surprise to anyone that we had a ridiculous time at their engagement portraits in Dallas. No surprise at all.

A little fun with pumpkins. I asked them to make sure they picked a pumpkin the size of their heads. It took Ron a while to find one that was big enough.

A quick wardrobe and location change. We started with some cartwheels in a field.

A beautiful field, albeit infested with mosquitoes the size of elephants.

O well, we abandoned the infested field and headed towards the beautiful band of colors over the water. So pretty!
