Vivie, the graduate

A few fun images to commemorate Vivian’s graduation (with honors!) in MIS from the University of Texas at Dallas. I did mention with honors, right?

A rare image of my husband :)

An even rarer image of my parents. I’m showing my dad where to look in the camera. Always bossy, I know.

Six.

A special Saturday post to commemorate Nathan & I’s 6 year wedding anniversary. This is still one of my favorite wedding pictures and the one I refer to the most when I talk about our wedding day.

Hello Gorgeous.

I learned of the amazing Zida of Studio Z Mendocino several years ago and while I craved letterpress business cards, I wasn’t really ready for them. This year I’ve felt my brand take on new legs and really blossom so I knew I was ready to put that icing on the cake.

My phone conversation with Zida began with a simple statement “I want them to be awesome”. She laughed and asked me to keep talking. From my last batch of business cards I knew that I wanted my trademarked phrase to stand on it’s own. “We shoot fabulous people”. Yes! I want that  stand up straight & tall on its own and to start the whole juggernaut into motion.

Zida suggested a red metallic foil. Yes!

Zida suggested a red edge painting. Yes!

From there, Zida ran amuck with ideas and styles for the back of the card. I had warned her that I was picky to the point of impossible. She took my feedback and went back to the drawing board and each time each design brought me more glee until we ended up here :

And I exclaim with a joyful “YES!”

Cupcakes with Vivie

Viv and I hit up the new Whole Foods Market on Park Lane last week because the Cupcake Bar was calling our names.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Hey you! MTD presents Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at UNT’s Campus Theatre. I bet the name sounds vaguely familiar and that’s because you saw the film version starring Michael Cane and Steve Martin. But that was back in the days of slap bracelets and  acid washed jeans and let’s face it, you’ve slept since then. The show has some very familiar faces in it that my blog stalkers may recognize : Mandy Raush, Kelsey Mackie, and a host of amazing talent that were also in Crazy For You.

And the show … it’s freaking hilarious. I’m no theater critic, but I almost peed my pants laughing and since you can all tell that I’m a very serious individual that may seem very hard to believe ;) So get thy self to the show (click here for ticket information!) if you are ready to experience some good ole’ pee-yourself-funny-times. Mandy said she heard me giggling during the show, so she can vouch for the fact that I found it utterly enjoyable. It doesn’t hurt that Mandy and Kelsey rocked my socks off in ways that I didn’t know existed.

And just to leave you salivating for more, here are a few shots from a special performance last week:
