Music Love.

Thank heaven for twitter! (Actually, thank you Jack Dorsey!) My status update last Wednesday (“Yes, I just downloaded Cascada’s ‘Evacuate the Dance Floor’. Don’t judge.”) prompted a tweet from the band Your Villain, My Hero : “@lynnmichelle our band did a live video for our version of “evacuate the dance floor!” http://bit.ly/EInPv <–hope you like it!”

Like it? I LOVED IT! They rocked my socks off, I would LOVE to see them perform here in Dallas!

Headshots for the Cure

“Headshots for the Cure is a fundraising event that was created by Mandy Rausch, an individual participant in the 2010 Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure (Dallas, TX) in collaboration with the photographers of Fresh Focus Point, a Dallas-based photographer collective. The event is being created in order to provide high-quality, professional headshots for actors, performers and/or corporate individuals with all proceeds from the event going directly towards Ms. Rausch’s fundraising goals for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The Komen foundation is the global leader of the breast cancer movement in its goals to increase awareness; empower patients, survivors and family members; and ultimately help find a cure.”

The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 28th from 1pm to 6pm. As mentioned above, EVERY PENNY is going straight to the Susan G. Komen foundation! Spots are filling up quickly, please register for your time by contacting Mandy today!

I’d like to extend a special thank to my colleagues at Fresh Focus Point (FFP) for devoting their time to such a wonderful cause. FFP is a collective of photography studios who have come together to provide a single source for quality wedding and event photography in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The 5 studios that make up FFP include myself, Engaged Studio, Simple Moments Photography, Rego Visual Arts, and Imaginography. I’m honored to be hanging out with such a group of talented and well-respected photographers.

On a really funny note …

Here’s what the results look like in response to the question “Do you like my watermark?”

Not only does the majority like it, but we’ve succeeded in making a Pac Man pie graph. Way to go guys! Nom. Nom.

Shirin Askari Spring 2010 collection

Does the name sound familiar? Shirin was one of the finalists for Project Runway, Season 6. She recently debuted her Spring 2010 collection in a spectacular show at Southside on Lamar. Her fashions are lovely, flowy and feminine and she is just a joy to be around – joyful and incredibly sweet.

The show was put on by The Fashionistas and they did not disappoint. And since I’m sending the thumbs up to people, I’d like to send my love to Lite Dallas who provided the lighting, real-time projection, and I’m sure some other wonderful behind the scenes stuff that I was not privy to!

Here is Shirin, during an interview with D210TV before the show.

Poll : What do you think?

Look deeply into  my watermark’s eyes …

By this point, I’ve seen it 2 million times and you’ve seen it just a few times less than that. So I’m looking to you, my loyal blog stalkers to voice your opinion. Do you love it? Do you hate it? Give me your opinions!

Now remember, the point of a watermark is twofold :

1) recognition. You see the feather swirly, you get excited “that’s ones of Lynn’s pics!”

2) safe guarding. Don’t steal my stuff, I created it and I will come after you.
