True story : I met Nathan the morning of the wedding. So that meant that I didn’t realize there was a height difference until this very moment …

The reception was held at The Signature at West Neck in Virginia Beach.

This is Tony, Nathan’s stepdad. He brought a Nikon, we still heart you Tony

I guess she didn’t expect to actually catch it.

I loved that Mary helped Nathan steer the garter!

And it’s never complete without some Gnomie love!

Let me back up a tinge. Before I left for the church, we shot Mary’s bridal party and family at The Founder’s Inn. BEAUTIFUL, isn’t it?!

This is Mary’s family. Just her immediate family: mom, dad, brothers and sisters.

Sibling fun.

Little sisters are for picking up, right?

Mary’s mom & aunt Margaret, who was our day of coordinator.

From here, I was off to the Norfolk Naval Base – to shoot Nathan & his family at The Our Lady of Victory Chapel.

We had quite an audience, so I invited them all in for pictures!
The guys.

The sun set right before the ceremony and it got cold, cold, cold. Of course, I’m a wuss being from Texas where November still hovers in the 60s, but it was chilly so we did portraits after the ceremony in the chapel.

And then it was off to the reception!

I was so full of happiness for Mary when she let me know that her and Nathan were getting married. But then she told me they were getting married in Virginia … yikes … I needed to be in Houston the morning following their wedding! What to do? What to do? Obviously go out to Virginia and schedule an early arse flight for Houston the next morning, duh!
Virgina was just gloriously beautiful in late November and we had such a ridiculous time with all of their friends & family. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world guys!
Mary sent me tons of pictures leading up to the wedding – of her ideas and of her locations. Nothing she sent me could prepare me for how beautiful The Founders Inn & Spa in Virginia Beach was. Mary & her family got ready there. It was a complete eye candy extravaganza for me to shoot her details and getting ready there.

Hot pink Christian Louboutins? Yes, please.

Mary’s something borrowed : the veil her mom wore (& borrowed) for her own wedding.

Nathan & the groomsmen went to beach.

Two of Mary’s sisters watching Mary get ready.

Another sister helping mom with her nails.

I haven’t mentioned it yet, I was so blessed to be able to bring Vivian as well. She got this amazing capture of Mary’s sister Meg lacing up the dress.

The next four are all courtesy of Vivian as well. She totally rocked it while I was on my way to the church…

Mary’s parents say a prayer in the limo before the ceremony.

We’ll conclude Katie + Donny’s hijacking of the blog for a few days with their Framed Booth. Tracie and Nancy were taking care of the ‘booth’ while Vivian and I shot the reception so I knew there would be some, um, interesting images. I’m never disappointed by my girls

I wish I knew what was going on here.

And here.

And maybe here.
