Just a little list of things that I HAD to tell you today to complete your Monday morning experience.
1) The dress, after being trashed …

An email from Carie:
“I wanted to let you know how much fun I had trashing my dress with you and also about my experience after the shoot.
I wanted to get enough of the dress clean to have a baby blanket and small pillow made. After the shoot I took my dress to the cleaners. The faces on those men were priceless!! After the ‘what did you do?!’ questions and my reassurance to them that yes it was ok if it didn’t all come clean, they agreed to clean my dress. I stopped by yesterday to check on it and it was 100% clean! It looks like it could be worn again. James asked me when I was going to trash it again. LOL”
2) Sexy Mondays.

Look for new posts on the boudoir blog every Monday! Sexy Mondays indeed.
3) Yummies.
It’s been getting pretty hot in our kitchen lately. We’ve tried out some ridiculously yummy recipes from Food & Wine Magazine that I wanted to share.
Grilled Salmon with Preserved Lemon & Green Olives
Scallops with Grapefruit Onion Salad
Have a fabulously yummy day!
Jana & John are in Costa Rica enjoying their honeymoon so I’m going to entertain myself with caught pictures from their wedding.
Nancy provided entertainment during the lighting check for formals.

Vivian was busy photographing bouquets.

And the church. Hello, Vivie’s shadow.

Look, there’s a photographer behind you!

Look, I’m in Vivie’s picture! Nice form on my part, though

Sparklers, run away!

The groom got caught hugging the photographer. This looks so sneaky that you can’t help but laugh.

Today’s blog post required a bit more work than usual. I had to find and dust off my old scrapbook because, well, I knew Stacy back when there were Units stores, big bangs, and cavariccis. That’s right the 80s. And went to school together through all of that awesomeness.
Here’s a great image that I found of our 8th grade graduation in 1993 – this is 1600 ISO film with no flash permitted (and some awesome gold photo corners – don’t be jealous!). I remember all of those lovely, grainy images from graduation.
Bonus points if you can find either myself or Stacy in this picture.

So the story goes on and we all go off to high school. Since we were in the private school circuit, there are several high school options so we all kind of split up and most of us lost touch.
About a year ago, I ran into one of the girls above at a salon while shooting a bride getting ready for her wedding. The next thing I knew we had a St. Patrick’s Class of 1993 group on Facebook. But my story doesn’t end there. I get a message from Stacy, she’s admitting to being a blog stalker since the group was started and she’s getting married! Well, alright!
Stacy wins the prize of being the person that I have known the longest and whose wedding I will be shooting! That’s a long-arse name for a prize isn’t it? Must. Work. On. That.
And then there’s Tommy. Poor Tommy, Stacy & I spent much of our first meeting laughing and talking about old friends & high school hi-jinks. Although I’m sure he’s happy that I can’t produce a picture of him in 8th grade!
I really got a chance to get to know Tommy during the portrait session. He can attest that it’s not a real engagement session without an awesome sunset, people staring at you or a field full of burrs.

Check out the awesome sunlight, the great pose, and a field full of mean, nasty burrs.

There was a lot of laughter.

This one cracked me up.

And we finished up at Lee Harvey’s, where they had their second date!

I adore Alyssa. Shooting her is all fun, all the time. Take a picture, make a joke, laugh for a few minutes, maybe take another picture. I think we laughed more than we shot that day, but, damn, everything we did shoot was solid gold. Love you girl, congrats Mrs R!!
