Happy Cat.

I’ve decided that today I am going to make myself update my wedding webpage and I will complete it by this afternoon! But … but … I NEED TO BLOG! I don’t want my stalkers rebelling and running away, after all!

This is my Biggie. He loves his daily supervised outdoor adventure. He loves to guard our 3 foot palm tree and roll around in the sun. He’s definitely one content cat.

Heather’s Bridals

Heather gave me full reign to go crazy with her bridal pictures and I big, puffy heart her on a stick for that! We had quite an adventure ahead of us that day which included an ice cream cool off at Braum’s. (It was a sweltering 90 degrees last Wednesday). But our journey didn’t end there. She hiked through fields with me and endured scary spiders. And she rocked the bridals, like I knew she would!

No dresses, brides, bridesmaids or assistants were harmed in the making of these images. And I’m ok too:)

cake tuffles!

I’ve got a thing for cake truffles. Yummy, decadent cake truffles. And since I’m knee deep into planning a bridal shower I thought those bad boys would be a great dessert or favor.

In comes Kyle with PeaceLoveSugar!

When asked what makes her different her answer is:

“I don’t have a flavor list. I hate to limit my clients to a generic list of 5 cake flavors along with 2 types of frosting. Basically you tell me what you like and I can whip something together for you. Are you an Elvis fan? Let me razzamadazzle together some peanut buttery goodness with a dash of banana and a hint of chocolate (because everyone loves chocolate). Furthermore, I LOVE to decorate. I like the challenge of taking your event/theme/interests and making an edible piece of art.”

I was sold! No flavor list means I can request all sort of funky stuff! And I did … “raspberry something” was my official request and she came up with this orgasmically yummy raspberry pineapple couture truffles! So yummy that only 3 made it home — before you make moo cow noises – I was running errands with Erinn & Vivian and I didn’t devour them all by myself.

Better turnout on this one. 5 of 6 made it home. Erinn snagged a peanut butter one. After taking the picture, I ate the bottom right one which tasted like Oreo goodness! Since then I’ve also found red velvet heaven!

Julie & Eric | Sushi

Speaking of Julie & Eric …. they came over on Saturday to make sushi. Now, none of us have ever made sushi before and since I was leading the parade, I looked up a few tutorials beforehand.

The first thing you need to know is how to make perfect sushi rice. (PS: I have a rice maker, which made life sooooo much easier)

Ingredients & things we used:

1- sushi rice (Japanese short-grained rice), rice vinegar, sugar, salt

2- sashimi-grade tuna or salmon (1 lb each from Central Market)

3- chunk crabmeat

4- nori

5- veggies: cucumbers, avocados, asparagus, etc

6- sauces & stuff: cream cheese, wassabi, ginger, soy

7- sushi rolling mats

Doesn’t that tuna & salmon look divine!?

Julie rocked at making sushi. She’s laughing at us because we suck.
