Lauren & Tyler’s E-pics

Let story time commence.

Engagements with Lauren & Tyler started off pretty mellow. We were making our way through Deep Ellum in my usual fashion- dodging back and forth looking for neat nooks & crannies. About halfway through shooting, we ran into Hal Samples and he urged us to come in and shoot of some black paper he had set up with an awesome purple chair. Sweet, a little bit of studio photography for a little zing, ya know?

We were walking back towards the car when Nancy (new crazy lighting assistant aka NERD) spotted a tiny Pomeranian puppy and we started talking to her owners. The puppy, named Sushi (greatest name ever), was incredibly adorable and before we knew it we were on the rooftop of club and shooting a purple hotrod that belonged to the owner.
And then we started shooting in a castle, too.

I mean, this story clearly was missing a castle!

My Sick Cyc

You’ve probably seen it in the images below, but here it is in all of it’s wonderous glory. In the photography world it’s called a cyc. In my world, its called awesome.

Ashley & Casey’s E-pics

As you can see from the last picture we had quite a crowd watching our engagement pictures. Casey was a tad worried about all of the onlookers, but  I knew they would get curious and start walking around the location by themselves. And they did.

We sort of sneaky-dodged the parents for a bit, but in the end they found us! Thanks to the whole crew for all of the fun!

Eye Candy Portraits

One Light Workshop : Houston

I had to beg, scratch, and plead to get a spot in the The One Light Workshop in Houston. Alright, I totally lucked out when there was a last minute cancellation, but I was still a bit nervous about driving to Houston and if the workshop would be everything that I hoped it would be.

The 3.5 hour drive and 14 hour workshop was so worth it and it was great meeting some of the best photographers around Texas, Florida & Canada and especially the lighting guy himself, Zack Arias.

Abel & Lisa Longoria were our models.

Lauren Clark and I ran rampant around the hotel with an umbrella.

This is just Fred Egan being himself.
