Jordyn & Ben’s Wedding

“Toto, I don’t think we are in Dallas anymore”.

All of my worrying about flying with equipment and getting searched, seized and confined was unwarranted. Customs was uneventful minus the part where they gathered around the monitor and snickered at the gnome zipping through the X-ray machine in the front pocket of my camera bag. [He likes to travel first class, what can I say?]

For a split second I was sure they were going to take him away from me and claim him as a lethal weapon. Then he would spend the rest of his splendid life in Cancun- lucky bastard- and leave me alone in Dallas with his knife-yielding twin brother Gnome. O the agony that those seconds of snickering held.

I wonder what “look at that crazy girl with a Gnome in her backpack” is in Spanish. Note to self: listen for the words “gnomo” and “loca”.

Keeli’s bridal portraits

This is Keeli. She taught me to believe again.

And I bet you a gnome that Keeli just screamed “Lynnie Bratty Pants!”.

Keeli has insisted that her pictures should be accompanied with an inspirational epic, doting extensively on her classically tireless qualities. Please. This is my blog … she’s getting a haiku. And a bad one at that.

o keeli muffin
you lick flower bouquets
and that is weird

Leiter Family Portraits

Chris and I had been emailing back and forth for some time to set up a portrait session with her family. As if meshing their schedules wasn’t hard enough, then came the email that I have gotten too many times this year already:  “what do we do if it rains?”. Ah, yes. Now that Dallas has become a lush rainforest we must now put Plan B into action. Plan B was the studio and it was a great appetizer to the real pictures- which did end up happening outside.
